What features are available on the Overview or Contract Main Page?
The screenshots in this article show the German interface. Where a button or field matters, the German label is given in brackets so you can match text to screenshot.
The Overview [Übersicht] is the first page you see after logging in. It pulls together your upcoming tasks, your newest contracts and a few headline figures about your contract portfolio.
What's in it for you
The Overview gives you the day's status of your contract management without any effort. Tasks that are past their due date are marked in red, new contracts with unverified AI values are one click away, and the financial figures give you a rough projection of your recurring contract costs and income. That saves the daily hunt and keeps deadlines reliably in view.
How it works
After logging in you land on the Overview [Übersicht] automatically. In the top right you will find the "All teams" filter [Alle Teams] — use it to narrow the display to a single team if you are active in more than one.
The widgets on the Overview
1. Task overview [Aufgabenübersicht] (top left)
Shows the next tasks that are due, with their due date. Marked in red means the date is already in the past. "Show all" [Alle anzeigen] takes you to the full task list; clicking a task opens it directly.

2. Recently added contracts [Neu hinzugefügte Verträge]
The contracts most recently added to ContractHero, with their upload timestamp. "Show all" [Alle anzeigen] takes you to the contract list. If AI-analysed contracts are waiting for your verification, the entry "Review analysed contracts" [Analysierte Verträge überprüfen] also appears here — clicking it opens the filtered list "View: AI-analysed contracts" [Ansicht: KI-analysierte Verträge].

3. Tasks [Aufgaben] (figure)
Shows the total number of tasks falling due in the next 30 days. Useful for planning a week or a month.

4. Contracts [Verträge] (figure)
The total number of main contracts in your account, together with your plan limit (for example "59 / ∞"). Attachments and sub-contracts do not count towards the limit.

5. Income [Einnahmen] (figure)
The total amount of recurring income from all contracts set up as follows:
- The contract's financial aspect [Finanzielle Aspekte des Vertrags] is set to income [Einnahme].
- The payment cycle is recurring, not one-off.
- The currency is Euro.

The "i" tooltip to the right of the value shows you the detailed calculation.
6. Expenses [Ausgaben] (figure)
The same as income, but with expense [Ausgabe] as the financial aspect. Here too, the "i" tooltip shows the details.

7. Categories [Kategorien] (doughnut chart)
A graphical breakdown of your contracts by category. The two tabs "Count" [Anzahl] and "Percent" [Prozent] switch between the absolute and the relative distribution. Useful for spotting where the bulk of your contract portfolio sits.

Common questions
What does the red marking in the task overview mean?
The due date of that task is in the past — the task is overdue and needs your attention.
Why do the income and expense widgets show 0 €?
The calculation only works when contracts are maintained accordingly: a financial aspect is set (income [Einnahme] or expense [Ausgabe]), the payment cycle is recurring, and the currency is Euro. If any one of those three values is missing, the contract is not counted in the figure.
What does the "All teams" [Alle Teams] filter in the top right do?
It filters the Overview down to a single team. By default the Overview shows aggregated values across all teams you are a member of. Useful when you only want to keep an eye on your own tasks and contracts.
Where do I find the AI pre-filled contracts for verification?
In the "Recently added contracts" [Neu hinzugefügte Verträge] widget the link "Review analysed contracts" [Analysierte Verträge überprüfen] appears — clicking it opens the list of contracts with unverified AI values (see Related articles: "How does contract analysis work?").
Do attachments and sub-attachments count towards the contract figure?
No. The "Contracts" [Verträge] figure counts main contracts only. Attachments and linked sub-contracts do not count towards the plan limit.
Can I change the order of the widgets?
Not at the moment — the Overview has a fixed layout. If you would like to see that change, do let us know.
Good to know
- The Overview is a summary, not a filter. For detailed analysis, use the contract list with your own views (see Related articles) or the PowerBI report.
- Income and expenses are a projection. The values are based on the contract data you maintain and are not an accounting statement. For official reports, keep using your ERP or accounting system.
- Work through "Review analysed contracts" [Analysierte Verträge überprüfen] daily. Clicking that entry and verifying every day keeps your data quality clean — and clean data is what makes filters and analyses reliable.
- Overdue tasks are an early warning system. If the task overview permanently shows red entries, it is worth looking at your task routines — perhaps an owner is missing, or the deadline was unrealistic.
