What are integrations? An overview of connections to your existing systems
Integrations connect ContractHero with the systems your team already works in — your CRM, your BI software, your calendar, your inbox. Contract data flows to where decisions are made, without anyone having to maintain it twice.
This article gives you an overview of which integrations exist, what they are good for and where to find the detailed guides.
Your benefit
Contracts are rarely the only system in which your company works with customers, suppliers or internal processes. Integrations save you the detour:
- Less duplicate data entry. Customer and contract data flows between ContractHero and your CRM — no copy-and-paste between two systems.
- Contract data everywhere. Key figures from your portfolio land automatically in your BI suite, in your calendar or in custom systems.
- Automated processes. A contract is signed → CRM updated, task in Slack, email to accounting. With no manual steps in between.
- Your existing setup stays in place. You do not have to rebuild your processes — you connect ContractHero to what you already use.
What is an integration at ContractHero?
An integration is a direct, usually automatic exchange of data between ContractHero and another system. It comes in three typical forms:
- Import — data comes into ContractHero from outside (e.g. contract PDFs by email).
- Export / sync — ContractHero sends data outwards (e.g. contract status to the CRM, key figures to the BI tool).
- Read-only connection — external systems subscribe to ContractHero data (e.g. calendar dates, reporting views).
Not every connection is an integration in the strict sense. Single sign-on (SSO), for example, is an authentication method, not an integration — it does not transfer any contract data, only the login identity.
The available integrations at a glance
CRM
HubSpot integration
Synchronise contracts and CRM data between ContractHero and HubSpot. Deal and company data feeds automatically into your contract logic.
Business intelligence & reporting
Power BI report
Pull contract data into Microsoft Power BI to use it in your standard dashboards — for example renewal forecasts or spend analyses in the context of the whole company.
Email import
Contracts land in ContractHero automatically as soon as they arrive by email — no manual upload needed.
- How can contracts be uploaded by email? — the basics of the per-team email import address.
- Importing contracts into ContractHero via Outlook email — Outlook-specific forwarding configuration.
- How do I import contracts from Gmail / Google Workspace by email? — Gmail/Workspace-specific forwarding configuration.
Calendar
Calendar integration: subscribing to ContractHero dates in your own calendar
Contract deadlines, notice dates and tasks land automatically in Google Calendar, Outlook or Apple Calendar — as a filtered, read-only feed.

API & automation
For everything that goes beyond the standard integrations: your own systems or individual processes.
- Public REST API: controlling ContractHero programmatically — read and write contract data from your own backend.
- Webhooks: sending real-time events from ContractHero to your systems — react automatically in your own system to events in ContractHero (new contract, signature completed, status change).
Further individual integrations on request
For the following systems we support setups in a customer call — there is no self-service article (yet):
- SharePoint — synchronise contract storage from SharePoint
- OneDrive — synchronise contract storage from OneDrive
- DocuSign — connect existing DocuSign signature processes
Speak to your customer success manager or to support about these — we will show you the options and set the connection up with you.

Frequently asked questions
Are integrations included in the standard plan?
That depends on the integration. Some (e.g. email import) are part of the standard plan, others (e.g. HubSpot, Power BI, API/webhooks) are tied to particular plans or add-ons. Your account manager will check with you what is available in your specific case.
Do I have to be a developer to use integrations?
No. You set the standard integrations (email, calendar, HubSpot, Power BI) up via the ContractHero interface — usually without any code. Only the Public REST API and webhooks require technical know-how, because these integrate directly into your own systems.
Can integrations overwrite existing contract data?
The standard integrations are built to add to your data, not to replace it. If you want a setup that actively overwrites values (e.g. daily CRM overrides), speak to support beforehand — that behaviour has to be configured deliberately.
Is my data transferred in encrypted form by integrations?
Yes. All integrations run over encrypted connections (HTTPS / TLS). You will find details on security in the Trust Center.
What happens if an integration fails?
The standard integrations attempt automatic retries. If problems persist, you will see the disruption on the Status Page or receive a notification. Support will help with the debugging.
Can I build my own integrations?
Yes — that is exactly what the Public REST API and webhooks are there for. They let you access ContractHero data from outside and react to events from ContractHero. No support ticket is needed to use them.
What about single sign-on (SSO) — is that an integration?
No. SSO is an authentication method — it transfers login identities, but no contract data. We therefore do not count SSO among the integrations.
How do I request a new integration that does not exist yet?
Speak to support or to your account manager. We collect feature requests and pass them on to the product team.
Good to know
- Understand your setup first, then choose an integration. Clarify internally where the data currently flows — then you can judge which integration gives you the most leverage.
- Start small. Begin with one integration (e.g. email import) and gain some experience before you set several up at once.
- API/webhooks for special cases. If a standard integration does not fit, the combination of Public REST API and webhooks almost always covers the rest.
- An integration is no substitute for clean data management. An integration is only as good as the data it transfers. A properly maintained field in ContractHero is a pleasure in your CRM or BI tool too.
- Support will help with the first setup. For most integrations we can accompany you through the first roll-out — get in touch before you take an integration into production.
Would you like to set up or enhance an integration?
Your account manager or support will help you with the setup — from the right channel through to the first successful flow of data. Get in touch with us via the web chat or by email to support@contracthero.com.
