Calendar Integration: Subscribe to your ContractHero deadlines in your own calendar
You already know the ContractHero Calendar view — all contract deadlines, tasks and contact reminders in one place. With the iCal feed integration, you go one step further: you create a filtered view, activate a feed, and subscribe to it directly in your Google Calendar, Outlook, or Apple Calendar. That way, your ContractHero deadlines show up exactly where you already plan your day.
Prerequisite: You are already familiar with the ContractHero Calendar view and its filter options. The iCal integration builds on top of it.
Why this matters
- Contract deadlines in your main calendar. Notice periods, end dates and tasks appear automatically in your daily calendar — right where you already look every day.
- A backup to email reminders. You can use the feed in parallel with your email notifications, or replace the emails entirely.
- Jump straight to the contract. Every calendar event includes a direct link to the underlying contract or task in ContractHero.
- Individual per user. Each person subscribes to their own filtered view — Sales sees only customer contracts, Legal only NDAs, Finance only payment due dates.
How it works
Step 1: Filter and save a view
Open the Calendar area and set the filters exactly the way you want the data to appear in your main calendar — for example, „Notice periods only“ or „My tasks only“.
Click „Saved views“ → „Save view“ at the top and give it a descriptive name (e.g. „Notice periods Q3“ or „My tasks“).
Step 2: Enable the feed
Open „Saved views“ again, hover over your view, and click the pencil icon to edit. In the dialog, you’ll find the option „Enable Feed“.
As soon as the feed is active, a link appears — copy it to your clipboard.
Step 3: Subscribe to the feed in your calendar app
Google Calendar (web):
- In the left sidebar, click the plus icon next to „Other calendars“.
- Choose „From URL“.
- Paste the ContractHero link → „Add calendar“.
The new calendar appears under „Other calendars“ and is immediately visible. All-day events show up in the top day bar.
Outlook:
- „Add calendar“ → „Subscribe from web“.
- Paste the ContractHero link, give it a name → confirm.
Apple Calendar / iCal:
- File → New Calendar Subscription.
- Paste the link, choose an update interval.
Step 4: Jump straight to the contract
Click a ContractHero event in your calendar — the event description contains a direct link to the corresponding contract or task. One click, and you’re in the right place.
Typical use cases
- Personal task overview. Your own ContractHero tasks appear each morning in the daily overview of your main calendar.
- Renewal pipeline. Subscribe to a view named „Notice periods in the next 90 days“ — Outlook shows the forecast without you having to open ContractHero.
- Team calendar. Create a view like „Sales team contracts“ and share the link with your team — each person subscribes separately in their own calendar.
- Double safety net. If you occasionally miss email reminders, the calendar gives you a second, visual reminder layer.
Frequently asked questions
Is the data in my calendar always up to date?
Yes. The feed is refreshed regularly by your calendar app (Google Calendar every few hours, Outlook and Apple Calendar depending on your settings). Changes in ContractHero — a new contract, a changed notice period — show up automatically.
Can I edit events directly from the calendar?
No, the feed is read-only. You still make changes in ContractHero — they are automatically reflected in your calendar.
Do my colleagues see my view when I share the link?
Yes. The link shows the view with your filters. Anyone who needs a different filter logic must create and subscribe to their own view. Views live at the user level.
What happens to the feed if I leave the organization?
When your account is deactivated, the feed link becomes invalid. Colleagues would then need to create a new view from their own account.
How many views and feeds can I create?
There is no hard limit. You can subscribe to as many views in parallel as you like — e.g. one for „Notice periods“, one for „Tasks today“, one for „Sales team“.
What if my organization uses Custom SSO with a login prefix?
If your account runs on a dedicated prefix (e.g. mycompany.app.contracthero.com), you must log in via the prefix first before opening the feed link. Otherwise, you’ll land on the generic login page and the feed request will fail. We’re working on making this more seamless.
What happens if I deactivate the feed?
The link becomes invalid — your calendar subscription stops showing new data. You can re-enable the feed any time — the link becomes functional again.
Does this work on my smartphone too?
Yes. Once you’ve set up the subscription in your main calendar (Google / Outlook / Apple), it syncs automatically with your smartphone — provided that calendar is connected there.
Good to know
- Deactivate feeds you no longer need. Avoid unused feeds — it reduces clutter in your calendar and lowers sync load.
- Adjust email notifications. If the calendar feed becomes your main reminder channel, you can reduce or fully turn off email notifications. If you want a backup, keep the emails on.
- Custom SSO tip. For login-prefix setups: log in via the correct subdomain first, then open the feed URL.
- Clear filters = clear calendar. Instead of an „all-in-one“ feed, prefer several focused feeds — otherwise your main calendar becomes overloaded.
Not using this feature yet, or want to expand it?
Your Account Manager will be happy to show you how to integrate the iCal feed meaningfully into your contract workflow — 15 minutes usually does it. Reach out via the webchat or by email at support@contracthero.com.
